3 Important Moments of TFA

Collectively, the most important moments in Things Fall Apart have been decided to be
1. Unoka's Life and Feat of The Cat
2. Ikemefuna adopted
3. Okonkwo beating his wife and killing Ikemefuna
4. Okonkwo shoots a boy and exiled for 7 years
5. Arrival of the missionaries and building of the first church
6. Okonkwo's return and rebels against missionaries
7. Okonkwo hangs himself

Out of the 7, I personally believe that the three most important of the 7 is when Ikemuna was adopted, Okonkwo's exile and the death of Okonkwo. Ikemefuna being adopted was significant because it demonstrates the values of the Igbo culture, showing the practices they perform in order to avoid conflict, which is by exchanging the death of the woman for the life of the young boy Ikemefuna. This relates to the novel's theme of the complexity of the Igbo society. Okonkwo's exile was also a significant moment in the novel because it is the bridge between the lifestyle of the Igbo and the colonization and domination by the white missionaries. It also again demonstrates the Igbo values and cultures as it shows the Igbo was already living under a law and civil order exists, and Okonkwo shooting a boy has led to an exile. It relates to the theme of clash of cultures, the clash of the Igbo culture and the British culture and also the theme of Igbo complexity. It also relates to the context of the novel of Nigeria's colonization by the British. The moment intensifies the conflict for the Igbo people in general. Finally, Okonkwo hanging himself is significant because it shows the general outcomes of the arrival of the colonists on the Igbo people, which has led to having their civil order and their society falling apart. It relates to the theme of all mentioned above, with addition to the theme of destiny, as the process of colonization has always been destined to impact the local people negatively. It is also the resolution, or the final outcome of the conflict that has been built up throughout the novel.

The James Lange Theory is a theory of emotion theorized by William James and Carl Lange. The theory suggests that the emotion occur as a result of how the body interprets the physical reactions. Based on the example above, it shows that once you run, your body would react by having the heart beat faster which then leads to the emotion of tiredness. Coriolanus: Caius Martius

Caius Martius is the protagonist of William Shakespeare's play, Coriolanus. He is primarily portrayed as the tragic hero of Rome who won the tragic battle against the Volsces and saved Rome from being invaded. At the same time, Shakespeare does not portray Martius as the typical hero who is admired by the citizens after he has saved the day because he saves the day for his own pride rather than his own love for Rome. In addition to that, Caius Martius is also hated by the common people of Rome as he often insults them and treats them like actual low class citizens with no value and respect whatsoever, by cursing and pouring slurs at them.
